Oops

So, we haven't blogged in two weeks! TWO WEEKS! My goodness we have been busy bees!

Here is a recap on Josephine:
At her 9 month appointment, she weighed 18 pounds 6 ounces and was 28 1/4 inches tall! That puts her in the 50% for weight and 75% for height (!!!). She has been practicing her driving in various cars (photos to come), clapping a lot, laughing, "mamamamama" and "babababa" and even some "dadadada"-ing, enjoying her play time with her friend Josephine, putting some weight on her feet when held in a standing position, and just being a generally fun girl. She was given (well, they were given and she took ownership) a gift of a xylophone and loves loves loves to play it. She is very musical. Her current favorite food is Mixed Berry Soy Yogurt. Her favorite item in the whole world is her blankie. Josephine really enjoys looking at her food before she eats it. When you give her a puff, or other small "finger food," she will hold and inspect it before eating it (sometimes she licks it first for flavor too). Josephine is NOT a fan of water, and thorughly did not enjoy her time in the lake this week. About a month ago, we removed Josephine's bumpers and mobile, because she was found playing with them after a nap/sleep.
 A recap on Dylan:
At his 9 month appointment, he weighed 18 pounds 4 ounces and was a whopping 28 1/2 inches tall. He too is in the 50% for weight and 75% for height. Dylan was left in his crib one morning in a seated position and was found moments later (silent) standing. Later that day, his bumpers and mobile were removed and his crib was lowered. Dylan has been figuring out how to clap, seeing how much food he can eat in one sitting, trying out everything that Mommy and Momma are eating, having tickle-fights, teasing Josephine, and playing with friends. He has also been practicing driving, swinging on the swings, and reading many books. His favorite song is still "On Top of Spaghetti," he loves his pacifier, enjoys standing up, rolling around, and especially pulling up the alphabet play mat. One of Dylan's favorite past-times is to put a pacifier in his mouth, then stick his face in front of Josephine and wave his arms as if to say "hahahaha I got it! I got it! You can't have it! Nanny nanny poo pooo." (Her response has been known to be things like ripping it out of his mouth and banging him on the head with it.)

Other things we've done in the last two weeks since posting are: going to the Berkshires to visit with Grandma and Zayde, going to the Aquarium with Rita, meeting their cousins (first, once removed) Julia & Lauren (and Julia's fiance Dave), meeting their great-Aunt Kathy, celebrating their friend Zoe's first birthday, going to their first concert (also their first Tanglewood event), so much stuff!!!
Here are some photos from the last two weeks, when so much has happened!

In a nutshell..

This past week has been a busy one! We've gone to the park, we've gone on the swings, we've had Grandma and Zayde over, we just keep doing!
Josephine, in the past week, has started saying "ma ma ma ma ma," rolling over more (she goes to sleep on her belly, but when we get her in the morning she is on her back), started clapping, waving more, and most recently has decided that "da da" is Dylan's name. She has also made it clear to us that life without Dylan just might not be worth being called life. She won't eat without him, she won't play without him, she pulls her head up as high as she can to look in his direction (in the cribs) if he is crying. When he is placed near her, she lights up. Josephine also has been showing off her musical abilities - she turns everything into a drum, and hits it rhythmically.
Dylan, this past week, has been rolling around a lot more, pushing the gates out (we secured them so he is less able to push them away), standing up (he can pull himself pretty easily if he is in a sitting position and has something to brace himself on), pulling up the letter foam mat, and just generally trying to figure out how to crawl. He sees his friends do it, and knows they are younger than him, so he is working on it! We expect to enroll him in the New York City Marathon in 2013.
They have both been enjoying new foods, like beets, zucchini, lentils and leeks, to name a few. They've also been on a new schedule for one week, getting 3 full meals and 2 snacks throughout the day. Dylan loves it because it means more food! They have been getting very excited to go on our Summer Road Trip. We will be gone for roughly 2 weeks - to Florida, North Carolina and possibly Kentucky!
The kids also found a new friend - and she lives right upstairs in our building! She has a pretty nifty name too, Josephine! And, she picked a good time to get born, late September! So when we all get together, we have 2 8.5 month olds named Josephine! Dylan really likes her, he puts his hand on her head but doesn't pull her hair, which can only mean true love. Last night we noticed that he was flirting a little with her.. It's all quite adorable.
And now, some pictures for your viewing enjoyment:
