Telling people...

Last week, we called Sarah's mom and told her over the phone that we are having a baby. There was a lot of silence, and then screamed excitement. Not knowing that we had been trying, she was obviously shocked. She then begged us to drive down to North Carolina to tell the rest of the family. Matt (Sarah's brother) was down there for the weekend, and obviously Jay (Sarah's eldest brother) and his family were there. Her mom thought it was important to tell them in person - which is definitely true. It was so much better telling them in person than on the phone. So, we drove down on Friday after Stefanie got out of work, spent all of Saturday there, and left after breakfast Sunday morning so we could be back for work and school on Monday.
This Friday we will be seeing the doctor for our first OB scan, and then seeing Stefanies family on Saturday to share the good news with them. It has been VERY hard talking to them and not telling them our excitement.
We are also waiting to tell our closest friends - including Veronika. She came down last night and asked why Sarah needed ginger ale. When we said it was because she was a little naseaus, she said, "Geez, are you sick again???" It was very hard to keep the truth inside and say, "Yea.. who knows... it'll go away thats all that matters..."
Just a few more days to share it with the rest of our family.... The waiting is the hardest part!
