The backlog...

We had another blog, but have decided to move here. We can't upload the blogs and "post" with old dates, so we've copy and pasted them below if you want to read the last two weeks of information:

WHOO HOO

The doctors office called and has scheduled our first sonogram for next Friday, the 18th!

Follow-up blood work..
After spending all of yesterday going to Albany to secure rights and equality for all - including her unborn child - Sarah again woke up early to go to the Dr for blood work. The nurse said, as she was leaving, "OK We will call you later and schedule your first sonogram." :-D
The plan is that Sarah will schedule it for a time and day that Stefanie can be there - and hope that the Doctors office can accommodate that. Otherwise, Stefanie may have to leave work early or go in late one day. Since its not a time sensitive thing (in terms of the time of day) like inseminations and pre-insemination sonograms, we feel good that they will be able to accommodate it. All we want to do is call our family and tell them!!! You guys (the readers, our family) are our support, our care-rs, our everything. We can't wait to share the excitement with you all, and know that you will completely understand our reasons for not mentioning anything before now.

Blood test

This morning, Sarah woke up extra extra early and went to the doctor's office - without calling - to have some blood taken. They were more than happy to take her blood and more than happy to make her and Stef sit around for 5 hours waiting for the phone to ring... It was only 5 hours, but it felt like 5 days.
When the call finally came in, Sarah fumbled with her phone - which naturally failed to work properly as it normally does when she has an important phone call. Thankfully, the call did not disconnect and she was able to speak to the nurse. The nurse said, "The doctor has finally had a moment to review your blood test results." Sarah sat in school, on the edge of her seat, awaiting the rest of the sentence (the irony that she is typing this to make you wait as well is very very intentional).
She said, "The test was positive. But the doctor wants you to come in on Wednesday for a follow-up blood test." She asked, "Is everything okay? I mean.. is it possible that theres a problem?" The nurse responded - happily - that everything is "perfect" and "as it should be." She also said that there was nothing to worry about, we are positively pregnant. The blood test on Wednesday is to follow-up and make sure that the baby is growing as it should in early pregnancy (i.e. the hCG levels are doubling properly).
PHEW! That was a lot to recall and type.
After that phone call, Sarah fought with her phone and finally got to call Stef, who was driving home from work. Thankfully, she is a sound and safe driver because she was most definitely screaming in the car.
We are both extremely excited and cannot wait to call and tell family members. We looked in our "Keep It Simple Series: Pregnancy" book and by our calculations the baby will be due around the time of our wedding anniversary. Today marks 3 years exactly since the beginning of our engagement.
More to come, of course!

Day 1

So today Sarah went to the Dr. for the first insemination, tomorrow is the second. Not much to report, except a funny story...
While waiting in the exam room, where the insemination is done, Sarah was minding her own business reading. Then she heard the doctor outside the office, taking down her chart. When he walked in he said, "Sarah Frank. That's our woman. No. 11660, thats our man. Let's make a baby!"
Meanwhile, we will just be playing the waiting game again.. Tomorrow morning is the second insemination of this cycle - which so far looks good (the likelihood of pregnancy with this cycle, not the insemination itself). The 14 day waiting period has begun.... waiting is so hard.
